Dr. Barba focuses on the development of the most innovative techniques of knee and shoulder surgery. He is part of the joint replacement and arthroscopy unit and participates constantly in research and teaching, making him an authority in the field.
He began his studies at the University of Guadalajara, graduating for academic excellence at the Faculty of Medicine. Later, he studied out his medical residency at the Civil Hospital of Guadalajara Fray Antonio Alcalde. During his specialty studies, he participated in a medical rotaron at the Cemtro Clinic in Madrid, Spain. This hospital is where he decided to focus on sports and degenerative joint injuries, which is why he studies a Master's degree in knee pathology at this institution (endorsed by the Francisco de Vitoria University). He attends the Cemtro Clinic to participate in surgeries for high-performance athletes (Olympic athletes and First Division Soccer players).

Finally, he performed training in robotic-navigated surgery in the United States at Cornerstone Hospital, which is an international reference in knee replacement surgery. In Texas he is a student of Dr. Raúl Márquez, renowned orthopedic surgeon and pioneer in robotic surgery.
Regarding sports medicine, Dr. Diego Barba is a graduate of the High Specialty Course in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine at the Hospital Civil, as well as accredited by FIFA in 2019, approving a Diploma in Football Medicine.
Currently he focuses on restoring the quality of life of his patients through movement using joint surgery as his main tool, as well as non-surgical treatments when these can help his patients.
